2 eggs
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp melted shortening
1 cup milk
3¾ flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
Directions:
Directions:
beat eggs thoroughly. Gradually add sugar and beat until light. Add shortening, then add milk and sifted dry ingredients. The dough may be chilled to make it easier to handle.

Turn onto a floured board and roll out to the thickness of ¼ inch. Cut out with a floured doughnut cutter. Fry in deep hot fat/oil. Make sure the fat/oil is hot enough to brown the doughnut for 1 minute. Brown one side, when the raise to the top, turn over and brown other side. Carefully remove and place on paper to drain oil.
