¾ cup sugar
2 eggs
8 egg yolks
3 Tbsp brandy
1 cup heavy whipping cream
5 cups flour
1 tsp cardamom
oil
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together the sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and brandy until thick and lemon colored, then gradually beat in the whipping cream.
Sift the flour and cardamom together, then add to the sugar mixture, ½ cup at a time, stirring after each addition.
Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Turn out a small portion of the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut into 3x2-inch diamonds, making a ¾-inch lengthwise slit in the center of each, and gently pull one corner through as far as possible without tearing.
Drop 3 or 4 at a time into 4-inches of hot oil (375°), and cook, turning once, for 2 minutes or until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels and sift powdered sugar over the tops of the cookies.
Repeat with the remaining dough.
Should yield about 6 dozen.
