201 g (1 cup) sugar
¾ cup (1½ sticks) butter
1 egg
4 Tbsp. molasses
256 g (2 cups) AP flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, butter, egg and molasses until smooth.

Sift together flour, baking soda, ginger, and cinnamon.

Mix with other ingredients.

Roll dough into a ball and chill for several hours.

Preheat oven to 350 ºF.

Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

Roll dough to ¼" thick on floured surface using a floured rolling pin.

Cut into shapes.

Decorate before baking with raisins or chocolate chips, etc.

Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool 1 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.

Cool completely on wire rack before decorating with Royal icing.
