1 c. softened margarine
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 - 4oz pkg vanilla pudding
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. chocolate chips


Version 2 - Cheryl Huebner
4 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. white sugar
1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
12 oz. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Version 1:
Cream margarine, sugars, eggs, vanilla and vanilla pudding. Sift rest of dry ingredients together and add to wet mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop onto greased baking sheet and bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes.


Version 2:
Cream butter, shortening, sugars and eggs. Mix dry ingredients together and add to wet ingredients and mix well.
Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes.
