Ingredients: Version 1: 1 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 2/3 c. flour 1 1/4 tsp. soda 1 tsp. salt 1 pkg. chocolate chips
Version 2: 1 1/4 sticks butter 1 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. powdered sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 12 oz. bag chocolate chips 2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. soda 1/2 tsp. salt
Version 3: 1 c. stick margarine - melted and cooled 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 eggs - slightly beaten 2 tsp. vanilla 2 c. chocolate chips 2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. salt

Directions:Version 1: Cream butter, brown sugar and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and gradually add to creamed mixture and make sure it is well mixed. Stir in chips and nuts (optional). Shape into 1/4 cups and place in container between wax paper. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Place balls 3" apart on parchment lined pans. Press indent in center of each cookie. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Bake at 400º for 10-12 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire rack.
Version 2: Mix butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and then vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together and add. Stir in chips.
Bake in 350º oven for 10-12 minutes.
Version 3: Oven to 375º. Combine flour, soda and salt and set aside. Beat butter with sugars until combined. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until well blended. Add flour mixture until combined and stir in chocolate chips. Bake for 12- 14 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet. Let stand 2 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool. |
