Version 1:
3/4 c.butter - room temperature
3/4 c. dark brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. favorite candy or chocolate chips

2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. kosher salt


Version 2:
1/4 c. butter - softened
1/4 c. shortening
2 oz. softened cream cheese
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour

Version 1:
Oven to 350º

Mix dry ingredients together and set aside.

Mix butter and sugars together for about 2 minutes and add egg and vanilla. Mix for 1 minute or until smooth.

Add flour mixture. Stir in candy and/or chips.

Drop 2 Tbsp. dough onto lined baking sheet and bake 8-9 minutes or until edges are golden - DO NOT OVERBAKE.

Let cool on cookie sheet for 3 minutes and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.


Version 2:
Combine butter, shortening and egg. Beat on medium high for 30 seconds. Add cream cheese, vanilla, and brown sugar and beat until combined. Mix the rest of the ingredients together and blend in.
You can then add chocolate chips, raisins, or whatever candy you like and bake at 350º for 8-10 minutes or until slightly brown.
