¾ C shortening
1 C sugar (white or brown)
2 eggs
¼ C sorghum
3 C flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger
2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening and sugar together; beat in eggs and sorghum. Add flour, soda and spices and mix thoroughly. Chill dough for a few hours or overnight in refrigerator. Roll into balls the size of walnuts and dip top in white sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet (flattening balls somewhat if you prefer a flat cookie). Bake at 350º for 10 minutes.

Spices may be reduced if desired.

This recipe was on an All About Sorghum sheet that was handed out to guests the first few years that the Coburn Schrock clan was at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri making sorghum! We are going on 28 years making sorghum at SDC now!
