1 cup butter softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract (double)
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
sugar

Frosting
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/8 cup milk
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

Mix thoroughly the butter, powdered sugar, egg, vanilla and almond extract. Blend in flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Cover, then chill for 2 to 3 hours. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Divide dough in half. Roll each half 3/16 of an inch thick on lightly floured cloth or counter / board. Roll each half 3/16" thick. Cut into desired shapes, then sprinkle with sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake for 6-8 minutes or until light brown on edge.
