1¼ C. butter, softened
1¼ C. packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1½ C all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
¾ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
3 C quick or old fashioned uncooked oatmeal
1 C dried cherries

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Using a mixer, beat together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in egg and vanilla.
4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
5. Add to creamed butter mixture, mixing well.
6. Stir in oatmeal and dried cherries.
7. Drop by a rounded tablespoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
8. Bake 8-11 minutes or until lightly golden.
9. Cool one minute on cookie sheet, then remove.
