1 c. mashed potatoes
6 T. melted shortening
3 eggs
1 ½ tsp. salt
1 c. milk
3 ¾ c. flour mixed with 7 tsp. baking powder

"Stir up in the afternoon and leave in the icebox to chill. Fry the next morning. This makes them lots nicer!"

Grandma Dell was famous for her donuts. Jean Hastings remembers that in high school her friends would flock to her house when they heard that Jean's grandmother, who was visiting from Iowa, was making donuts.
