4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups butter, softened
1 ½ cups packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts (Optional)

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
Step 2
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar,and white sugar.
Next add in the instant pudding mix until blended. Next add in the eggs and vanilla.Blend in the flour mixture. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips.
(and add nuts if using)
Step 3
Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls , I use the small to medium cookie scooper , drop onto ungreased cookie sheets I always use parchment paper
lined baking sheets.
Step 4
Bake for 14 - 16 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown. Watch your time very closely , I have never baked them for more than 16 minutes.The cookies will be a light golden brown.
Step 5
Once out of the oven let the cookies sit on sheet for a couple minutes before you transfer them to a baking wire rack. Let the cookies cool all the way before
storing them.Store in an air tight container , cookie jar or Ziplock bags. These cookie last for about a week on the counter or freeze wonderfully for months.
