1 lg pkg Marshmallows
1 C butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
8 C Puffed Rice cereal
Red or green food coloring, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Melt marshmallows and butter together in a heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until marshmallows are melted. Add vanilla and food coloring. Pour puffed rice in a large bowl and pour the marshmallow sauce over the cereal. Mix well. Form into balls and put in individual baggies. Dipping your hands in a little cold water makes it easier to form the balls without it sticking to your hands.

You can substitute cornflakes cereal for the puffed rice and form them into wreath shapes. Place them on waxed paper and decorate with red hots.

My mom gave me this recipe many, many years ago. This is one treat that is requested by my kids every year.
