Recipe can be halved
5 cups flour
2 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
3 cups chocolate chips
2 TBSP baking powder
4 TSP baking soda
3 TSP salt
1 LB butter, room temp
4 large eggs, room temp
1 TBSP vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350ºF
1. Mix sugars together well
2. Add butter and beat until creamy
3. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until well mixed
4. Add baking soda, baking powder, salt and flour. Add chocolate chips last and coat in flour, then beat just until mixed
5. Scoop tablespoon sized balls onto baking sheet
6. Cook 10-15 minutes, until edges or tops slightly brown
7. Sprinkle cookies with sea salt right out of oven

I had these cookies in the summer of 2021 when I visited a Lark Hotel in Maine. They served them every afternoon and on our last day there I asked the chef for the recipe, so she made me a copy. They are a combination of flat, chewy center, and crispy edges. Perfection. Trust the recipe because when they first come out of the oven they look a little taller, but they will flatten as they cool.
