3 1/2 cups flour (sift three times)
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cup sugar
4 eggs
2 cups mashed bananas (4-6)
2/3 cup shortening
1 cup chopped nuts

Tripled: 5 cups flour, 6 teaspoons baking powder, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 cups sugar, 6 eggs, 1 cup shortening, 3 cups mashed bananas, 1 cup chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Add flour alternately with bananas and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour and ten minutes
