2 cups mixed dried fruits
1/2 cup seedless raisins
2 quarts water
1 cup sugar
3 inch piece stick cinnamon
3 tablespoons tapioca
2 teaspoons bitters

Directions:
Directions:
Place fruit in large kettle with tight-fitting cover. Pour cold water over fruit and let soak one hour. Add sugar and cinnamon and cook slowly, covered for one hour. Soften tapioca in 1/2 cup of cold water for five minutes. Add bitters and pour into soup. Cook until soup clears, about ten minutes. Remove from heat, cool, then chill thoroughly.
