3 qts. water
1 qt. Apple Cider vinegar
3/4 cup pickling salt
Garlic
1 head dill per jar
1/4 tsp. alum per jar
Small pickles

Directions:
Directions:
Put a small amount of garlic and dill in the bottom of a jar. Pack the pickles in the jar and add alum on top of pickles.

Next, boil water, vinegar and pickling salt. Pour liquid mixture into jars over pickles. Seal and put into canner. Cover the jars with water. Bring water to a boil and shut off the heat. Leave set until they are cool.

Liquid mixture covers about 7 jars.

You can also add small pimentos for a little color, or hot chili peppers if you want a spicy pickle.
