3 TBLS Cocoa
1 Stick Butter or Margarine
1/2 cup Veg Oil
1 cup water
2 Cups flour
2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Baking Soda
2 Eggs
1/2 Cup Buttermilk *
1 tsp Vanilla

Frosting:
1 Stick Butter or Margarine
2 TBLS cocoa
1/3 Cup milk
1 lb. powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla

*Make Buttermilk by adding 1 TBLS lemon juice and milk to make 1/2 cup. Let stand a few minutes.

Combine cocoa, butter, oil and water in sauce pan and bring to a boil.
Meanwhile, mix in bowl: flour, sugar, and salt. Add liquid mixture and beat. Then add soda, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour mixture into greased and floured sheet cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 - 20 minutes.

Frosting: After cake is cooled, bring butter, cocoa, and milk to a boil. pour into a bowl and add and add 1 lb. of powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Chopped walnuts can be stirred in of desired.
Frost the cake while frosting is warm, then it will spread nicely.

Ok... who measures powdered sugar by the pound? Sorry, I don't... I kind of just pour it in bit by bit and stir until its the desired thickness. Google says that a pound of powdered sugar equals 3 and 1/2 cups.
