Christmas Cookies


Ingredients:

1 cup butter or margarine or half butter and margarine softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 egg beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
Red decorating sugar for garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter with mixer. Add powdered sugar, beat well.
Beat in egg and extracts.
Blend in flour and salt. Mix well.

Form dough into two disks, wrap in plastic. Chill dough well or overnight.

Remove one disk from refrigerator. Roll on lightly floured surface 1/8” thick.
Cut into 1 1/2” squares. Then cut from each corner of the square almost to the center. Turn over cut point
to the center and press gently, forming a pinwheel or (poinsettia).
Sprinkle each center with red sugar. Place on parchment paper.

Bake at 350 degrees 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
