½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1½ tsp salt
⅜ cup water
⅛ cup rum
3½ cups flour
1 cup molasses
1½ tsp ginger
¼ tsp allspice
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp cloves
1 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until light.
Dissolve salt in water and mix with rum.
Add baking soda to molasses.
Stir flour with spices.
Add liquid ingredients alternately with flour mixture to creamed mixture. Stir well between additions. Dough should be sticky.
Chill overnight in refrigerator.
Next day, roll dough on floured board to ¼ to ½ inch thickness.
Cut with large cutter 3½ to 4 inch diameter.
(Decorate with frog face if desired!)
Bake in a 375º oven for 10 - 12 minutes.
