1/2 C Shortening
1.5 C Sugar
2 eggs
1.5 C Sifted Flour1.5 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
3/4 tsp Nutmeg
1tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp lemon juice (optional)
1 1/4 C Buttermilk
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, beat in eggs. Alternate dry ingredients with buttermilk.
Bake @ 350 approximately 30 minutes or until done in the middle (test with toothpick)
