1/2 lb. bacon
4 potatoes, peeled and sliced
2 onions, peeled and sliced
1 large can tomatoes
salt and pepper
water

Directions:
Directions:
Brown bacon in a large pot. Add potatoes and onions. Cover with water. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook on low heat for 30 minutes. Add tomatoes and continue to simmer.

I haven't made this since I left home, but I remember mom making it. It seemed like it took a few simple ingredients that could be stretched when you didn't have much food or money to buy food.
