1 cup shortening
½ cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
1⅓ cups granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
½ cup oatmeal
3 cups flour
1½ cups chocolate chips
2 cups chopped Hula Princess macadamia nuts

Preheat oven 350ºF.

Mix together shortening, butter, sugars and eggs until creamy. Add vanilla and lemon juice. In separate bowl, blend together cinnamon, baking soda, salt, oatmeal and flour.
Slowly combine dry ingredients into butter mixture. Blend well. Add chocolate chips and macadamia nuts and stir by hand. Drop scant ¼ cup dough unto lightly greased cookie sheet 3 inches apart. Bake 16 to 18 minutes.
