Sweet & Sour Sauce


Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
Finely chop ALL ingredients first and set aside.
1 pkg Jimmy Dean hot pork sausage, cook, drain, crumble and set aside.
2-3 large boneless chicken breast
2-3 T cornstarch
2-3 T soy sauce
2-3 T cooking sherry
1 tsp ginger
Mix & Stir fry till meat is white and firm (I stir fry in canola oil with a FEW DROPS of pure sesame oil)
Add pork and mix
Add very large glob of chunky peanut butter & mix.
1 sm head cabbage
1-2 cans each: (drain all well)
Bamboo shoots
Water chestnuts
Chinese veggies
Bean sprouts
Stir fry all till cabbage is crisp-tender then mix together with meat mixture
Mix well and cool. (Making the filling the day before works best)
Wrap in commercial egg roll wraps and deep fry in peanut oil
Flip often while cooking, drain on paper towel and serve with Hot mustard sauce and Sweet and Sour Sauce

1 med jar of either plum, peach, or apricot JAM.
1/8 cup vinegar
1/8 cup soy sauce
Mix and heat in pan (low to med heat)
May need to add more vinegar and soy to taste.
Will thicken when cooled

Well…all my favorites from mom’s kitchen are already listed so…I’m adding a few of my tweeked oriental recipes that I know both mom and dad really enjoyed from back in the day when I used to cook!
A special memory and note of caution to all who like hot mustard sauce.. use sparingly! Dad slathered it on his egg roll and then yelled “call the fire department “!! His tongue was on fire!!!
