1 Cup Sugar
3 over ripe Bananas, mashed
2 Eggs, beaten
2 Tbsp Shortening
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Nutmeg (opt)
2 Cups Flour

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and place in a loaf baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour, test after 45 mins or so as not to burn.
Test with a toothpick, if it comes out clean it done.
Cool completely before slicing.

Gram always had banana bread for a snack. She originally got this recipe from Betty Iverson was a neighbor that helped her with the girl scout troop.
