2 cups quick oatmeal
1 tsp baking soda
1⅛ cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter (or margarine)
1 tsp vanilla
Granulated sugar (for smushing dough)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Mix in other ingredients until well combined.
Form dough into balls the size of a walnut an place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten balls with a jar top buttered and dipped in granulated sugar. (Nana used a mayo jar top wrapped in cloth then butter and sugar.)
Bake in a 350º oven for about 8 minutes.
