1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp. ginger
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking soda
5 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven 350º. Mix shortening and sugar and then add molasses and water.
Combine ginger, salt and baking soda and add to mixture. Slowly add flour. Roll out and cut place on greased cookie sheet and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 minutes.
