1/2 C butter, room temperature
1/2 C granulated sugar
1/2 C light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 C molasses
1 egg
1 C fresh or canned pumpkin
2 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 C milk
sifted confectioner's sugar for dusting

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in molasses and egg. Stir in pumpkin. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cayenne, and nutmeg. Stir flour mixture into creamed mixture along with the milk. Blend thoroughly, but do not over beat.

Drop cookie dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375º for about 12 minutes, until set. Cool for a minute, remove to racks, and continue cooling. Dust cookies with sifted confectioner's sugar.
