1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening (1/2 Parkay & 1/2 Crisco)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 T. hot water
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. Wheaties or corn flakes
1 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs, vanilla, and baking soda dissolved in water. Then add flour and remaining dry ingredients. Mix and roll into balls. Bake at 375° for 12 minutes.

Rind of 1/2 lemon (opt.)
Juice of 1 orange
Juice of 1 lemon
Powdered sugar enough to spread (about 2 c.)
