2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1/2 c. cocoa + just enough hot water to make a medium paste
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. hot water

Mix all together in order given (batter will be very thin). Bake in a greased and floured cake pan at 350° for 40 minutes.
