1½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp baking soda
1⅓ cups or 4 large mashed bananas
nuts (optional)

Icing:

2 cups powdered sugar
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 drops yellow food coloring (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder, shortening, sugar and egg. Dissolve 1 tsp. soda in 1 tbsp. water and add to flour mixture. Add vanilla and mashed bananas. Put in cookie sheet pan and bake 25 min. at 350º.

Ice cooled bars.

Notes: For icing, you can use 1/2 mashed banana instead of milk or you can use cream cheese instead of milk unless milk is need to gain spreadability.
