1 1/4 cups butter, softened

1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar

1 egg

3 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter, sugar and egg in a bowl of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Reduce speed. Add flour and salt, mixing until dough forms.

Remove dough from mixing bowl. Divide in half. Return half of dough to mixing bowl. Add cocoa powder and beat on medium speed until completely blended.

Divide each flavor of dough in half. On a floured surface, roll plain dough to a rectangle about 10-by-8-inches. Repeat with chocolate dough. Place atop plain dough. Trim edges to make even. Loosen dough from surface, if necessary. Roll up dough tightly into a log from the long end. Repeat with remaining dough.

Wrap logs tightly in plastic. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or up to 1 day.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Unwrap log and, with a sharp knife, cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices. Place slices

1 inch apart on baking sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until just golden around the edges. Transfer to racks to cool.
