1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 t. soda dissolved in 2 T cold water
1/2 t. nutmeg
4 c. flour

Icing
4 C. powder sugar
2 t. vanilla
food coloring
Add about 1/4 c. liquid (milk or hot water)

Mix and knead.
Bake at 375*
