2 cups shortening 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup granulated sugar 2 tsp vanilla 2 eggs 4 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp baking soda 2 tsp cream of tartar
Cream shortening and sugars. Add vanilla and eggs. Sift together the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture a little at a time. Mix well. Roll dough into small balls, flatten with a fork on the cookie sheet in a criss cross design. Bake at 350º for 8 to 10 minutes.
