CAKE
1. 1½ c boiling water
2. 1 c oatmeal
3. ½ c butter
4. 1 c white sugar
5. 1 c brown sugar
6. 1 tsp nutmeg
7. 1 tsp vanilla
8. 2 eggs
9. 1 tsp baking soda
10. ½ tsp salt
11. 1 tsp cinnamon
12. 1½ c whole wheat flour

CAKE TOPPING
1. ¼ c melted butter
2. ½ c brown sugar
3. 3 tbsp cream
4. ½ c chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
5. 1 c coconut

1. Grind 1¼ c flour on fine
2. Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let stand for 20 minutes
3. Combine ingredients 3-8
4. Add oatmeal and blend again
5. Sift together dry ingredients (9-12)
6. Blend dry ingredients with oatmeal mixture
7. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan
8. Bake at 350º for 50 minutes

TOPPING
1. Combine all 5 ingredients
2. Spread on cake
3. Broil in oven until bubbly
