2 cups of Butter
2 cups of sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

4 1/2 cups Flour
2 1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp. Salt

1 cup Merichino cherries cut up

2 cups unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts)
3 tablespoons Poppy Seeds

Directions:

Preheat oven 400

Mix butter, sugar, and eggs. Cream then add
Vanilla.
Then mix dry ingredients separately of flour baking powder and salt. Then add to wet ingredients above.

Divide dough in three parts.
Add each part to three separate
- cut up cherries
-unsweetened chocolate with chopped nuts
Poppy seeds

Line 9x13” Pyrex pan with wax paper
Then spread the cherry layer, then chocolate layer, and then poppy seed layer.
Refrigerate overnight or several hours.
When chilled cut a strip 1” wide and 1/8” thick and bake at 400 degrees about 5 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet.
Makes at least 6 1/2 dozen or 200 cookies
