1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
granulated sugar for rolling
~36 Hershey's kisses

This is an actual Betty Crocker Recipe that was perfected by the three sisters! No Christmas cookie tray was complete without a couple of these delicious cookies on top!

Heat the oven to 375º.
Mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, margarine/butter, shortening, and egg thoroughly. (Recommend mixer on medium-high until very smooth).

Stir in the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in granulated sugar.

Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until edges are light brown (8-10 minutes).

Upon removing from oven, immediately press candy kiss firmly into the center of each cookie. Allow to cool.
