1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar

1 medium egg

1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder (should be fresh)
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

400º
Bake 8-10 minutes on lightly greased cookie sheet

Cream together butter and sugar.
Blend in egg.
Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture.
Add vanilla.

Glaze: mix 3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar with 3-4 tablespoons water. Add food color if desired.
