¼ cup margarine or butter, softened
⅔ cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3½ cups flour (sifted)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 package (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream margarine (or butter) and shortening until smooth.
Beat in sugars, eggs, and vanilla.
Mix until well blended.
Gradually add flour, salt, and baking soda.
When well blended, fold in chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 375º F for 8-10 minutes.
