1 c butter
1-1/2 c packed brown sugar
2 medium eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 c all-purpose flour
2-1/3 c oatmeal
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
12 oz chocolate chips
1-1/2 c chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, oats, baking soda and salt. Mix until well blended. Stir in chips and nuts. Drop dough in /4 c mounds on greased cookie sheets 4" apart and 2-1/2 inches from edge of pan. Lightly grease bottom of pie plate, dip into sugar and use to flatten each cookie into 4" circle. Bake at 350 deg for about 12 minutes or until edges brown lightly. Cool on pans about 5 minutes, transfer to racks to cool thoroughly.
