1 cup soft butter
1 cup brown sugar
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup sifted flour
½ tsp salt
1 tsp soda
¼ cup boiling water
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar. Add rolled oats and flour and salt.
2.Add soda to boiling water and add to dough mixture mixing well.
3. Shape into a square or round logs and freeze.
4. Heat oven to 375º . Slice log very thin. Place on cookie sheet and bake 5-7 minutes until lightly browned. Cookies will be soft when baked but crisp when cool. 4 dozen.
