1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
5 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
Juice and grated rind of 1/2 lemons
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar together till fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time beat well in between each.

Add lemon juice and rind. Add dry ingredients. Mix well.

Chill for 1-2 hours. Roll out 1/4 inch thick, cut with a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Sprinkle cookie with sugar.

Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet. About 10 minutes at 375º
