1 cup sugar
1 square butter (1"x1" or 2 TBL)
3 TBL Unsweetend cocoa
1/4 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in double boiler, stirring constantly.
It is ready when it balls. (dip a fork in and the chocolate will form tiny balls on the tines of the fork)

Pour immediately over the cooled Chocolate Cake.
The frosting hardens as it cools.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is a very old recipe handed down to my Grandma Frieda. It requires patience, but is worth the wait.

Make sure the cake is completely cooled or the hot frosting will soak in and not harden.

Butter used to come in 1" bars, so it was common to measure in a square. It's about 2 TBL.

If you don't have a double boiler, put water in the bottom of one pot and place another over the water.
