1/2 cup shortening 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg 2 cups cold water 1 Tbsp "Rapid Mix" yeast 2 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking powder
Beat ingredients together with electric beater, 5 min or more. Add 3 cups or more flour. Knead to a medium stiff dough. Leave in bowl overnight. In the morning, form into buns and let rise 2 hours. Cook at 350º for 25 min.
This is an old Upper Fraser recipe that I got from Lori. Makes excellent dinner buns.
