Ingredients:  
1 cup sugar
1 cup Crisco
! cup molasses
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Cream above ingredients together; set aside

Then sift:
1 ¼ cinnamon
1 ¼ tablespoon ginger
1 scant teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons soda
4 ½ cups flour

Add to creamed mixture, combine ingredients until texture of soft cookie dough.
Drop by spoon on to GREASED cookie sheet.
Bake @ 350 for 10 – 12 minutes (minutes will ultimately depend on size of dough balls)

Note: For best results bake on bottom shelf for half of the time and top shelf for remainder (stops burning)
