Bacon
Onion
Butter
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Green beans

Directions:
Directions:
I fry about half a pound of bacon crisp. Set aside. Add chopped white or yellow onion to some of the bacon grease. Sauté until caramelized. Set aside. Put washed green beans in the same pan. Add just about two tablespoons of water and steam and sauté the beans. Add in the onions and bacon when beans are done. I add in some butter to taste and salt and pepper. I taught myself to make these beans through trial and error.
And add in some garlic powder. I do a lot of tossing and tasting. I take the lid off and on throughout. You want the bacon to be crisp, so add last.

Here is Grammy Jean's famous green bean recipe, another staple of our Thanksgiving meal. She is known to bring them in a beautiful silver dish, and we eat always empty it.
