4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
1 tsp. lemon or vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add flavorings and eggs.
Add flour, salt, and soda; mix well.
Divide dough into 3 or 4 sections.
Roll out dough a little more than 1/8" thick.
Cut out cookies.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350° for about 7 minutes or until the edges begin to lightly brown.
Do not remove from cookie sheet until cool.
The dough may be frozen.
