Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is a very special recipe that is certain to give wonderful life long memories. I recall making this recipe with my Grandpa Ward Davidson, Granny Kate's son. The smells that filled the house were amazing with the added bonus of the weather being super cold and dry outside. A rare occasion in Houston, Texas. My father, Johnny Hawkins endured the heat to pull the taffy with my Grandpa. Shelley standing with a platter underneath to catch it if it was dropped and I stood ready with butter so they could keep buttering their hands. Jonathan was inside ready to try the yumminess. The end result was the tastiest brittle, airy candy imaginable. It is unlike anything else you have ever had. Since then there have only been a handful of times that either my siblings, Shelley or Jonathan, or myself have been able to pull Taffy.
