2 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp grated lemon peel
Topping glaze:
1 Tbls lemon peel, grated
5 tsp lemon juice
2 Tbls sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in butter until coarse. Stir in lemon peel. In a small bowl, mix together eggs and milk. Add all ingredients together and mix until moistened. Spoon into a loaf pan and bake at 350 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. In a pot, add 1 Tbls lemon peel, lemon juice and sugar and cook for 5 minutes until thickened. Brush over the top of the cooled loaf.
