1- 1/3 stick of butter at room temperature
3/4 c granulated sugar
1/4 c packed brown sugar
1/4 c apple sauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt
1/tsp baking soda
1-3/4 c flour
1 c mini chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Using an electric mixer combine butter, sugars, vanilla, and applesauce until smooth and well combined.

Whisk salt and powder into flour to combine well.

Gradually add the flour moisture to the wet ingredients blending into a smooth 'dough'.
Stir in the chocolate chips

Using a mini ice cream scoop,drop balls onto a cookie sheet and refrigerate until set

Balls can be dipped in melted chocolate or dredged in cocoa powder or cinnamon once fully set and before storing.

They keep best in the refrigerator.

This is for all of the people who routinely steal your cookie dough before you get a chance to bake the cookies. No raw eggs, no need to worry about belly aches.

For the purists, you can even leave out the chips for pure cookie 'dough' balls.Although I have not tried this, I imagine that one could stir chunks into homemade ice cream while it's churning,
