2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening (1 stick margarine 1/2 c. Crisco)
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and fats together until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix the dry ingredients together and mix into the batter.

Roll dough into 2 long logs. Chill in refrigerator for 2 hours. Remove from refrigerator and slice into 1/4-1/2 slices and bake 350º 10-12 minutes.

This is your dad's favorite sugar cookie. For some reason, I can't make them like his old baby sitter (Joanne Trost!) They make a good Christmas sugar cookie.
